I live with my wife in a small semidetached house in Summertown (Oxford). I like to have my small garden where I can spent part of my free time taking care of my homemade vegetables. I’m Italian so I love pasta! I eat pasta everyday! Finally, although research is extremely fascinating, I like to spend my energies to follow some other interests: speleology, astrophotography and boardgames. Ah… I forgot, I’m diabetic… but, this fact does not affect at all my life!

I am interested in the static and dynamic properties of one-dimensional quantum systems. In particular, I focused my research on the out-of-equilibrium aspects of 1d quantum systems after a quantum quench (local and global quenches as well as adiabatic protocols). I addressed such problems by means of analytical and numerical methods; the latter being especially useful to analyze non-integrable (read “strange”) models.

I wake up not too early, I take a coffe and breakfast. Then I go to work. I spend the day reading articles, analysing data, making calculations. Usually I eat with some colleagues. I come back home at 7pm more or less. I have dinner with my wife and thereafter we usually watch a movie or play a bordgame. In the weekend often we go out in a pub a we drink beer… we like beer, especially the IPA.
