Sam Parsons answered on 23 Sep 2017:
One of the most important parts is actually slightly separate from my main research aims (cognitive processes relating to mental health). That is, ensuring that my research (and other research I am involved in) is performed rigorously and being a part of the wider ‘improving psychological science’ community. There are lots of problems with the way research has been performed and in the incentive structures for academics, playing my part in improving this will probably have a wider impact than the specifics of any one study.
