Jack Leslie would not have played against Maradona or Pele, but after he retired he worked in the boot room at West Ham during the 1960s and 1970s where he sorted the kits and cleaned the boots for England World Cup winners Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters. He also would have clean the boots of Clyde Best who was one of only a few Black players in the top league in England at this time.
